Liimaan alle lion Ianilta Australiasta tulleen viestin pääosan. Kirjoittakaa hänelle !

I have been asked to administer a portfolio called Club Twinning during the 2006 - 2007 Lions year. I give some details of this project below.

Could I respectfully ask that you inquire from your own Lions Club, and any other Lions Club that you have contact with to establish whether they are interested in forming a twinning relationship with a Lions Club in District 201Q1. If you have any positive results send me the required information, if possible by the end of June 2006. I can then circularise that information to all Lioins Clubs in Distrrict 201Q1 early in the 2006 - 2007 Lions year.

The Club Twinning project is conducted on an international basis and is recognised by Lions International. It involves arranging for Lions Clubs in District 201Q1 to enter into a voluntary twinning arrangement with Lions Clubs in an overseas country. The Club Twinning project enables Lions Clubs in different countries to exchange ideas and information about Club activities and projects, to build friendships and mutual understanding and thus further the first purpose of Lionism--"to create and foster a spirit of understanding among the people of the world".

Initially this would require comminication between the two Clubs and an agreement to establish a Twinning relatioinship. This relationship can then be built further in a number of ways --

*exchanging Club and District bulletins, bannerettes and badges.

*exchanging information and photographs about major Club projects.

*setting up, and exchanging annually, a scrapbook or album about important Lions activities during the Lions year.

*exchanging programmes and photographs about the District Convention.

*exchanging information about Lions projects conducted on a District and Multiple District basis. e.g. Campaign Sightfirst 2, Lions Medical Research Foundation.

*sending copies of the Australian Lion in exchange for the national Lions magazine from overseas.

*arranging for classes of school children to correspond with children in the area of the twin Club.

*it may be possible, in the long term, to initiate a joint project in a third country, to which each Club makes some contribution.

*issuing invitations to Lions from the Twin Club visiting Australia to visit your Lions Club.

These are just a few ideas. I am sure there would be many other ways to build the relationship.

Any help you can give in this would be very much appreciated. The information required would be --
